Placing an Order
To place an order on our website, please use our secure on-line shopping cart.
Methods of Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
The customer must provide complete and correct card information as part of our fraud protection policy. The card holders name, the billing address, zip code, and card security code must match the information on file for the card exactly. We authorize all card charges through Braintree, one of the largest card processors. Information that Braintree accesses for your card is provided to them by your card issuing bank. We are not able to modify the address (or any other information) that you have on record with your bank for your card.
If we try to authorize your card for a transaction and the card information is not an exact match your bank will place a hold on your funds even when we then stop the actual sale and transfer of funds. The period of time that your bank “holds” the authorized funds is specified by your bank and card agreement and is not something that we control. Once authorization is attempted for the purchase, we cannot remove or delete or control how long your bank “holds” your funds under the authorization attempt. This is in your card agreement and is between you and your card issuing facility/bank.

All orders by check or money order will be sent upon receipt of payment.
Sales Tax
Sales tax will only be assessed for orders that are shipped within the state of Maine (5.5%).
Shipping
Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery of in stock items. Back-ordered items will be shipped as soon as available. You will be notified within 24 hours if any part of your order is back-ordered, and will be given an estimate of delivery date. Items ordered together may be shipped separately. Most orders are shipped via UPS from Brewer, Maine. Smaller items may be shipped via USPS. Tracking numbers will be provided when available.
Rush Orders
In the event you would like to request a rush order on any of the items at The Uncommon Hound, please send us an email through our Contact Page. We will do whatever we can to accommodate you.
Oversized orders may incur additional shipping charges. Incorrect or undeliverable addresses and refused shipments resulting in an item being “returned to shipper” will be charged for shipping fees.
Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO Shipping
Shipping to Alaska or Hawaii may require additional Shipping charges. We will contact you and let you know what those additional charges will be.
