The Uncommon Hound is the culmination of many animal-related projects worked on by founders Leslie and Tony Fournier. Living in a barn home above their 3 horses, they share their day to day life with the horses, 4 dogs, 3 cats and 2 turtles.
Leslie has been involved in animal rescue for over 25 years. They run a small non-profit rescue for homeless coonhounds. They have also been active in puppy mill rescue. Over the last 15 years Leslie and her family have had 120 different dogs live with them as fosters (not at the same time!). They started The Uncommon Hound so they could continue to make a difference for animals. Inspired by the adoption of over 430 animals to wonderful families, they wanted to concentrate on the good side of rescue… the “happily ever after” part.
